Ran this race in 2022, however, I did the full marathon. The opening corrals were a bit confusing and we're not explained well. Communication was sent to runners multiple times by email though, but I think the corrals weren't done the best. Half and full race runners were together and made things confusing. One group going first may have helped this, or one group going at one time and the other 30 mins later. The race overall was amazing, but I do wish the full went into Coney island as the original plan instead of a loop back into Prospect Park. Also, at mile 20 and 21 when we looped going back to the park, water stations had no one manning them and water was not in cups. It definitely was not the best moment to experience no hydration (at least for me). The medal at the end was and still is the best medal I own to this day. I have a lot from NYC Runs, Prospect Park Runners, NYRR, and the NYC marathon - This medal is the clear winner. Overall, I'll do the race again. There is no full marathon until 2024 or 2025, with focus only on the half, according to the organization NYC Runs, so I'm sure they learned a lot from last year.

Showcases so many of the best parts of Brooklyn, the energy and crowd was great, late April is beautiful. Would highly recommend. They suspended the full marathon for 2023 and 2024 because the organizers have such great commitment to better organizing the second half of the course, and I think it demonstrates how much NYCRUNS cares about a great experience.

This race was fantastic in 2022. The crowd atmosphere, the course layout, and the organization were all superb. I highly suggest running this race. NYCRUNS did an awesome job communicating race details in the months, weeks, and days leading up to Race Day. Also, April is a great time of year to be running in NY.
